Orient Printing Press Takes Delivery Of Konica Minolta
Orient Printing Press in Dubai recently invested in an all new digital C8000 printing press from Konica Minolta. Emirates Trans Graphics (ETG), Konica’s distributor, was behind the deal.
Founded in 1985, Orient Printing Press & Stationary is a typical commercial printing business with a range of offset equipment including 3 Heidelberg GTO, 4 and 2 Colour presses, AGFA CtP as well as cutting, folding and stapling machines for finishing operations .
Mark Sayntos John, Company’s Director for Business Development said: “We believe digital printing is the future. There is a definite shift in volumes of print from offset to digital.”
He added: “As a commercial printer we rely heavily on offset to deliver printed products. But the uncomfortable truth is that our customers cannot wait for their jobs to be printed conventionally. Printing digital is lot faster. We have been rather late to enter digital printing. But it’s better late than never. Digital printing delivers strong ROI as well.”
Speaking about the reason for choosing Konica Minolta C8000 Sayntos John says: “We were looking for a medium range digital printer that could complement our operations and provide superior return on investment. We studied a myriad of options available in the market and we came to the conclusion that Konica Minolta is more suited to our needs. As far as the quality is concerned Konica delivers near offset quality.”
Sayntos John is also talks highly of the level of service offered by ETG. “We have strong and solid relationship with Emirates Trans Graphic. The level of service they are offering is impeccable”.
Sayntos John maintains that demand for offset printing still exist albeit not as much as before. “The quantities are shrinking, Advertisers are moving away from printed products while at same time embracing online opportunities. But litho printing is still attractive in many ways, especially when the customers require attractive special effects.”
Orient Printing Press is looking forward to expand into Qatar and Saudi Arabia markets in the future. According to John the company will continue to be a commercial printer while at the same time invests in digital printing capabilities to cater to changing demands of its customers”
Adli Naamneh, product manager in ETG said that this deal reflects the company’s commitment to provide the market with the latest digital printing solutions. “We always strive to provide the latest technical solutions in digital printing along with our technical support services that meet all the needs of our customers,” comments Naamneh and adds,” the new printer will enhance the capability of Orient Press to respond to customer orders for short run.”
