NAMI & King Faisal Hospital Ink MoU for Medical 3D Printing

Riyadh-based National Additive Manufacturing & Innovation Company (NAMI) has signed a significant memorandum of understanding (MoU) with King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC), marking an additive manufacturing breakthrough opportunity in its mission to provide high-quality application development solutions to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the MENA region.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Abdulaziz Al Rajhi, Chief Medical Officer at KFSH&RC and Dr. Raed Al-Rayes, NAMI’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, in the presence of Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef.

The memorandum indicates a collaborative effort to drive innovation and advancement in 3D printing in the healthcare sector. This cooperation comes in line with Vision 2030, which aims to develop a knowledge-based economy and provide healthcare based on technology and innovation.

The MoU comes in light of KFSH&RC’s strategic direction aimed at promoting advanced technology in healthcare due to its effective role in improving health services, enhancing the skills and capabilities of medical practitioners, and consolidating the hospital’s global position in the field of research and innovation in providing healthcare.

NAMI is a joint venture between industry-leaders Dussur, a strategic investment firm owned by Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), Saudi Aramco, and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), and the American company 3D Systems, a pioneer in the field of additive manufacturing, with the aim of localizing 3D printing applications in the industrial and medical sectors by providing a digital manufacturing platform that facilitates access to reliable industrial-grade technologies and application engineers, maximizing local adoption of 3D printing.

Riyadh’s King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is among the most prominent hospitals in the world in providing specialized healthcare.
