MODON Goes Digital as Part of Saudi Vision 2030

The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has launched a Documents and Archives Center and a system for documentation, as part of its digital transformation strategy, and the establishment of a paperless work environment in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

CEO of MODON Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Salem, explained that the center was established in accordance with the system and regulations of the National Center for Archives and Records, in order to protect and preserve all historical documents using the latest technology of international standards.

Al-Salem pointed out that this will guarantee qualitative services that contribute to institutional decision-making, and achieve easy access to documents in the least possible period of time and in a safe manner, leading to the complete dispensation of paper-based transactions, and the trend towards comprehensive digitization.

He indicated that MODON employees were trained and qualified through specialized workshops to raise public awareness of the importance of archiving and how to deal with and preserve documents using the latest technical methods.

Engineer Al-Salem also stressed that the center constitutes a memory and history of MODON’s efforts to advance the national industry through its 20-year journey, by saving documents, reorganizing them, and building coding structures for all sectors in line with the Kingdom’s approved coding system, which enhances its programmes.

Since its establishment in 2001, MODON has been undertaking the development and supervision of industrial lands and integrated infrastructure. Today it oversees 36 existing and under development industrial cities in various regions of the Kingdom, in addition to private industrial cities and complexes. These cities manage over 6500 industrial and investment contracts and more than 4000 factories.
