METPACK 2023 Sets the Tone for Metal Packaging

From 2 to 6 May, 2023, the German “city of many possibilities” Essen, will once again become the hub of the world of metal packaging since 2017. For every three years Messe Essen with METPACK becomes the most important global meeting venue for the international metal packaging industry.

Numerous global players present sustainable and cost-efficient solutions for the painting, production, refinement, and recycling of metal packaging at the world’s leading trade fair for the industry.

METPACK 2023 is expecting over 200 exhibitors from 25 countries. Joining first-time exhibitor Nippon Steel will be other market leaders such as Belvac, Koenig & Bauer, Metlac, Soudronic, Stolle, Tata Steel and Thyssenkrupp Rasselstein who have confirmed their participation.

METPACK 2023

METPACK 2023 promises to be a great opportunity for the metal packaging industry to make new contacts and expand their market reach, especially by having personal discussions and an exchange about new products and solutions with their most important target groups.

The accompanying METPACK Conference to be held on 3 May, 2023, at the Congress Center Essen (CCE), gives the trade fair the necessary professional background. A host of industry experts will turn speakers, discussing current trends and innovative technical developments.

Improved technologies and outstanding new products will also be honoured with the METPACK Innovation Award. The winners in the gold, silver, and bronze categories will be selected by an independent jury of experts and announced on 3 May, 2023. Italian company PrintabLED, manufacturer of high-performance UV-LED systems for paint and printing systems, won the industry Gold METPACK Innovation Award in the previous 2017 edition. The jury recognized the high-energy efficiency and environmentally-friendly design of the UV-LED drying technology that does not use mercury and have a narrow emission spectrum, so that no ozone or undesirable radiation is formed during thermal drying.

Looking ahead to the event, project manager Christina Kleinpaß says, “We haven’t lost any of our exhibitors due to the pandemic. It makes me proud to experience such encouragement and cohesion from the industry. This clearly shows that METPACK continues to set the tone.”
