IPF Emirates Holds Interpack Roadshow
Interpack is perhaps the biggest packaging event in the world where the entire value creation chains: From the production and refinement of packaging products and packaging materials – over packaging and distribution – right up to quality assurance and consumer protection are presented. During last edition of the show in 2010 more than 170 thousand professional visitors from 121 countries, including business owners and managers of companies from the Middle East and the Gulf participated at the show.
IFP Emirates, Interpack’s representative along with Messe Dusseldorf organizer of the show launched a roadshow event In Dubai Hotel Al Bustan Rotana to promote Interpack 2014 which will be held in Germany between 4 and 8 May 2014. Thomas Dosa from Messe Dusseldorf said that with 50 years history Interpack is a landmark event for packaging and food processing industries in the world. Anybody who is anybody in the world of packaging participate at Interpack either as exhibitor or visitor.
In his keynote speech Mohammad Al Kamali, Dubai’s Director of Exports Market Development offered some facts and figures to highlight UAE’s potential as a major market for food products. Kamali said that the sales of frozen foods increased by 12 percent to 95 million dirhams while sales of dried foods with 10 % growth reached 1.8 billion dirhams. Sales of chilled foods increased by 10 percent to 97 million dirhams meanwhile canned foods consumption also saw an increase of 12 percent to 285 million dirhams.Kamali encouraged UAE’s food product supplier to take advantage of the opportunity that Interpack provides.
For his part Bassel Amaneddine, Director of IFP Emirates underscored the importance of roadshow event as a perfect networking opportunity between UAE and European business community.
