GCC to Print Textbooks for Yemeni Students
The President of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, confirmed, last Tuesday that the arrangements for printing the textbook in Yemen will soon be completed.
This came during his meeting with the Yemeni Minister of Education, Tariq Al-Akbari, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, according to what was reported by the Yemeni news agency Saba. The agency said that Al-Akbari discussed with Al-Hajraf the support of the education sector and the printing of textbooks in Yemen, and the need for the Arab Education Office for the Gulf States to contribute to developing the technical capabilities of educational cadres.
According to the agency, Al-Hajraf affirmed the General Secretariat’s keenness and focus on supporting education in Yemen, and that during the coming period; arrangements and procedures will be completed to print the textbook for students of the Republic of Yemen.
The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council said last week that the printing of 70 million copies of textbooks for Yemeni students is currently underway, with Saudi and Kuwaiti funding, and the provision of electronic book printing with Saudi funding.
