Fujifilm Launches New Wide Format Devices at FESPA Digital 2014

Fujifilm is launching a number of new products for print service providers on its stand at FESPA Digital (Hall B1, Stand 530), including the Onset R40i, Acuity F and Vybrant F1600 and four new Uvijet inks. Visitors to the stand will see the company focussing on the wide variety of high quality applications that can be achieved with its extensive range of wide format solutions.

Three new wide format devices launched at FESPA Digital 2014

The latest addition to the Inca Onset series, the Onset R40i, delivers an ideal combination of speed (up to 400 m2/hour) and quality (maximum output resolution of 1200dpi) for companies producing a mix of fast turnaround retail graphics for distance viewing and high-quality graphics for short-distance viewing. Based on the dynamic Onset Scaleable Architecture platform, the Onset R40i is available with a number of colour options (CMYK, Lm, Lc and white), and allows for printhead and ink platform expansion from a 4-colour configuration to 5, 6 or 7 colours (up to 8 ink channels – 2 for white ink).

Fujifilm is also introducing the new Acuity F Series, which has been specifically designed for volume sign & display print service providers that have a high demand for near-photographic image quality on rigid media. As the latest addition to Fujifilm’s Acuity platform, the device prints at speeds of up to 155 m2/hr, and is available as a 6-channel or 7-channel model.

The new Vybrant F1600 features Fujifilm’s patented FUZE hybrid UV ink technology, which can improve the efficiency and results achievable within a large format production environment. The four colour CMYK, 1.6m roll-to-roll device has a productivity of up to 18 m2/hour, and is ideal for printing vinyl or any other flexible material to create indoor or outdoor applications where durability and quick delivery times are essential.

Four new inks for POP and light industrial applications

At FESPA Digital 2014, visitors will also see Fujifilm launching four new Uvijet UV inkjet inks, all of which will offer customers greater quality and versatility. The new inks will give end users more options for filling their printers with work, ultimately delivering a faster payback.

The new Uvijet inks developed for the Onset include Uvijet OH, which has been formulated for use with Polyethylene and Polypropylene materials, and Uvijet OL, which is a new low odour corrugated ink which satisfies the DiN EN 1230-1 standard aimed at display and secondary packaging production.

Fujifilm’s new thermoforming UV-cured inkjet ink, Uvijet KV, is aimed at light industrial applications, while maintaining the high quality, vivid colours and excellent performance expected from a Fujifilm ink. There is no compromise to the print speed when used with the Acuity Advance Select printers, and has outstanding elongation properties of up to 1000% when heat formed.

The Uvijet QN ink range, developed for Fujifilm’s Uvistar Pro8 super-wide format device, now includes a new white ink that has been developed to increase the scope of application opportunities. This ink will allow users to produce super-wide format posters which can be illuminated for either day or night usage.

Tried, tested and trusted

In addition to the new products launched on its stand, Fujifilm will feature the Acuity Advance Select HD4008, which is ideal for producing high-quality POP and other signage on rigid, flexible or roll material at speeds of up to 32.5 m2/hr. Visitors will also see the Acuity LED 1600, a LED UV hybrid roll-fed printer that features a number of unique Fujifilm technologies, which is suitable for rigid and very thin flexible materials with best in class productivity of 20 m2/hr.

The euromedia zone will feature new and established creative materials that are suitable for the widest range of applications using water based, solvent, latex and UV ink technologies. Visitors should look out for Fujifilm’s unique “approved media” logo on a number of different materials, which confirms that these materials have been tested thoroughly on Fujifilm printers, and that ICC profiles for the most important RIPs are readily available.

Finally, Fujifilm’s cloud-based web-to-print solution, XMF PrintCentre, will also be demonstrated on the stand. The software allows companies to create multiple e-commerce web stores to sell print, and manages the whole print buying process from online purchasing through to delivering print-ready PDF files into any PDF print production system. This all in one web-to-print solution provides an easy means for print companies to manage their own e-commerce system and meet the demanding needs of their clients.
