Feras Printing Press buys Heidelberg XL 75

As Part of its strategy to expand into local and regional packaging markets, Feras Printing Press recently invested in a 6 colour Heidelberg 75 XL equipped with UV varnishing unit. The company also upgraded its prepress portfolio with the latest version of Prinect as well as a brand new image control.

The deal will enhance the production capacity of the printing press for high quality packaging printing with special effects.

Feras Printing Press was founded in 1987 with a capital of 14 million dollars. It is one of the first printing presses in the Middle East and North Africa to take delivery of CtP and colour control system.

The printing press started packaging operation last year as a means of diversification and to leverage the potential of the packaging market in Jordan and neighboring countries.

Badr Al-Safadi general manager and owner of Feras Printing Press said that the new XL press from Heidelberg will contribute strongly to company’s aggressive approach to packaging markets. “We are looking forward to expanding in high-quality packaging production market. While leveraging our legacy in printing, we strive to develop our packaging production capabilities by offering eye catching and highly in demand special effects.”

Talking about the impact of packaging on the company’s printing business, Safadi said: “Although we are new to package printing but so far we have received overwhelming response from customers.  Following our short involvement in package printing we saw an increase of about 25 to 30 % in our annual sales “.
