F&B Industry Eyes Growth with ProPak MENA & Fi Africa
Leading event services company Informa Markets has revealed that ProPak MENA 2023 and Food Ingredients Africa (Fi Africa) will be co-located at Cairo’s Egyptian International Exhibition Center (EIEC) from 28 to 30 May, 2023. The two events, launched in 2021 as part of Africa Food Manufacturing, have achieved great success in enhancing exports and gaining new global markets.
Hany Khafagy, General Manager Egypt at Informa Markets, says, “We have a strategic commitment to support the growth of the Egyptian economy that can be achieved in two ways. The first is to develop local industries, and the second is to increase exports and open new markets for Egyptian products through partnerships with various governmental and international organisations. These are our areas of focus while planning the platforms and exhibitions that we launch.”
Mostapha Khalil, Group Exhibition Director at Informa, adds, “The official launch of ProPak MENA and Fi Africa exhibitions comes after the soft launch of both events in 2021 in response to strong industry demand for a dedicated event serving the MENA region, and also to an increase in demand for participation by international companies and organisations.”
More than 300 exhibitors from over 20 countries have confirmed their participation, most notably China, India, and Turkey, besides the host nation. Over 9,000 food and beverage professionals from 56 nations are expected to make it to the dual shows.
Several programmes will be organized during the three-day event, including two specialized conferences each. The conference programme, in partnership with MENA Food Safety Associates (MEFOSA), will include insights on the latest trends and challenges facing the industry. The conference presents five tracks, over 30 talks, and renowned certificates, and is supported by of a consortium of packaging institutes from Africa and the region.
On the sidelines of the two exhibitions, the first Arab StarPack Pro Packaging Awards will announce the winners of 2022 in various categories including Beverages, Cosmetics and Beauty, E-commerce, Food & Agriculture, Fresh Fruits & Vegetables, Industrial and Transport Packaging, Luxury Packaging, Packaging Materials, Personal Care and Household, Pharmaceutical and Medical, and Point of Sale Packaging. The award is organized jointly by LibanPack, the Lebanese Packaging Center, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and endorsed by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO). The awards will also feature an area dedicated to displaying the winning products.
ProPak MENA is the regional edition of the leading global brand ‘ProPak Exhibitions’ for food processing and packaging. This year’s event will bring thousands of industry decision-makers and more than 300 of the most innovative global ingredients suppliers. The event has seen substantial growth in recent years, as Egypt is one of the most dynamic consumer goods markets in the region.
