EPA debuts at Istanbul International Arabic Book Fair
The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) made its debut entry in the recently-concluded 7th International Arabic Book Fair which was held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 1-9 October, 2022.
The EPA introduced the works of 31 Emirati publishers through its Manassah platform. Showcasing 2,000 titles in different genres, the EPA was successful in drawing a host of other publishers and visitors from around the world, highlighting its efforts in promoting the local and Arab publishing industry and trying to strengthen their outreach in newer markets.
President of EPA Ali Obaid bin Hatem commented that the association is taking full advantage of the opportunity at the book fair in Istanbul to introduce the rich and diverse Emirati titles to local and Arab communities as well as Turkish libraries and universities. He also spoke on exploring partnership opportunities with Turkish publishers to expand translation efforts in the region to boost the presence of Emirati publishers in new markets.
