Al Yousuf 3D Printing, a subsidiary of Al Yousuf Group, has announced the arrival of Doob, a full-service 3D technology company that creates replicas of you utilising the latest 3D printing technology, to the UAE. Founded in Dusseldorf, Germany, Doob is a frontrunner in digital scanning technology and the concept is currently present in New York (US), Los Angeles (US), Tokyo (Japan), Berlin (Germany), Sydney (Australia), Barcelona (Spain) and even Bahrain. Doob 3D Technology in Dubai was inaugurated by Helal Al Marri, director general – department of tourism and commerce marketing and director general – Dubai World Trade Centre Authority.
Mohamed Iqbal Al Yousuf, deputy president – marketing, Al Yousuf Group, said: “We are really excited about the launch of Doob in the UAE.” “Doob is a photo-realistic 3D printed replica of you. It is basically taking selfies to the next level. It is fun and captures moments in a way like no other,” he added. Doob is suitable for friends, families, kids, fashion-enthusiasts, businessmen and businesswomen, birthdays, weddings, events and even pets. To create the figurines, Doob operates retail stores and utilises mobile installations that can easily be set up at off-site events. Once you enter the Doob-licator which has 66 cameras and have your 3D images scanned and the size of your figurine chosen, you can expect to receive it within two to three weeks.
In line with the region’s culture and traditions, Doob in the UAE will also have an all-women crew who will cater to women and will be involved in every step of the process from the scanning to modelling to printing. The Doob figurines are available in different sizes including the 4-inch Buddy, 6-inch Bestie, 8-inch Doobie, 10-inch Boss, and 14-inch Diva. Life-sized Doob figurines are also available upon request. Prices start from Dh699 ($190.29) only.
