Coveris Americas was recently honoured with a 2018 Silver Award from the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA). The results of the 62nd Annual Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards Competition were presented March 13, 2018 at the FPA 2018 Annual Meeting held in Naples, Florida. “Coveris Americas thanks the FPA for this prestigious award. It celebrates the ingenuity and hard work of our employees who collaborate with our customers to design and produce packaging that is both eye-catching and functional,” said Glenn Weeks, senior vice president – chief customer officer at Coveris Americas.
The Coveris Americas winning package (in the category of flat bottom pouch with visual appeal, structure and convenience), was the CESAR® brand of pet food from Mars PetCare US. “Coveris Americas worked with our customer, Mars PetCare, to develop a package that would increase on-shelf appeal and promote their brand with all the latest packaging technology. This type of collaboration and know-how showcases the value that we deliver to the market,” said Dave Long, market development vice president at Coveris Americas.
“Because we believe pets make our lives better, our goal at Mars PetCare is to help make pet ownership as easy and rewarding as possible. Through strong supplier partnerships, we are able to develop Cesar Dry packaging that is easily noticed on the shelf, simple to use, and ready to store at home,” said Matt Lanenga, sourcing manager for dry and treats at Mars PetCare US.
The package was honored for printing and shelf impact excellence and features registered soft touch matte finish for maximum visual appeal. In addition, the package features high barrier, a flat bottom and the latest easy open / re-close feature for consumer convenience. The winning package was printed and converted into Coveris Americas’ facilities.
