Cosmo Films Develops ‘TeploR’ Heat Resistant Film

In a bid to facilitate the circular economy, Cosmo Films has successfully developed a new transparent printable biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film called ‘TeploR’ with a higher heat resistance, reports Andhram.com.

Post the announcement, the company’s shares on the BSE surged nearly 2 per cent to touch an intra-day high of Rs 461.05 per share, before paring gains and turning red.

In a statement, the company said that the FMCG brands and the entire packaging industry are aiming to recycle waste generated from flexible packaging. BOPP films have an excellent recyclability but most of the flexible packaging is made with different plastic materials making it difficult to recycle.

TeploR has been engineered to work as a printing layer allowing mono material structures in multi-layer laminates for various packaging applications in both food and non-food segments, it said.

Commenting on the same, Pankaj Poddar, CEO, Cosmo Films, said: “The TeploR film has an excellent printable surface at high converting speeds, will not shrink or form wrinkles and can be recycled easily. We have also gone ahead and patented the product in the company’s name.”
