Komori and Screen announce strategic business agreement for Europe

Komori International Europe and Screen GP Europe have entered into a strategic business agreement to establish a collaborative structure between Komori Corporation and Screen GP, Screen Holding’s business operating company responsible for graphic arts business.

Komori and Screen anticipate the agreement will provide a solid base for continuing development of the European printing industry, in a similar way to the cooperative relationship introduced by the companies for the North American market in September 2015.

The regional subsidiaries of both companies recently concluded a distribution agreement for the Belgian, French, German, Italian, Dutch and British markets. Komori Europe will become the sole distributor of Screen GP’s Truepress Jet520HD high-speed, roll type inkjet press in each of these areas.  Concurrently, Screen GP Europe will use its extensive expertise in digital printing to provide comprehensive support for Komori Europe.

By combining the expertise of Komori Europe and Screen GP Europe, both companies expect to grow their market share through increased digital and offset press sales. Further development of this arrangement is expected to contribute to continuing growth of the regional printing industry and enable the creation of a win-win relationship with customers.

Kazunori Saitoh, director and managing operating officer, group general manager, Global Sales & Service Group of Komori Corporation, said: Following the collaboration agreement in North America in September 2015, this is a great opportunity for both Komori and Screen GP. But more importantly, we know our European customers will benefit from the combined expertise of our two companies.”

Tsuneo Baba, president of Screen Graphic and Precision Solutions, said: “We have long believed that combining the technical and marketing capabilities of our two companies would provide an ideal approach to expanding our respective product shares within the printing industry.

As a first step, in 2015, we created a formal collaborative relationship with Komori Corporation in the North American market and we now expand this established relationship to Europe. We are confident commercial printers will see the true value of a combined organization that is focused on their success.”
