Classic Printing Invests In Eurobind From Heidelberg
It is no secret that cut throat competition in the market is driving printers in UAE to concentrate more on automation, while increasing their efficiency. A living proof of this trend is the new investment made by Sharjah based Classic Printing Press.
The company recently took delivery of an all new Eurobind EB 600. The company boasts a 4 colour Speedmaster 74, 2 colour Printmaster 74 and a number of GTO’s plus a Suprasetter platesetter and Prinect connectivity.
Classic which started its activities in 1996 is a thriving commercial printing press handling myriad of printing jobs including books, magazines and brochures. The company is run by O.V Rajan and his two sons. 55 people are working in the company.
Jithin Rajan marketing and operation manager says,” Customers nowadays cannot wait. They want their orders to be delivered yesterday. In order to respond to the customers’ demand we have invested 1.2 million dirham this year on state of the art finishing equipment which includes saddle stitching, folder gluer, folder and perfect binding equipment. We also plan to expand our prepress operation by adding another platesetter. The new Eurobind will help us to achieve faster turnaround.”
The new Eurobind perfect binding machine which is run by hotmelt glue is equipped with automated components, such as the clamp opening width, a hotmelt side gluing unit, spine scoring at the cover feeder to suit the block thickness, the scoring depth and the cover pressing station as standard features as well as an optical safety system in the infeed area, effective spine preparation, control of the gluing length, a driven hotmelt side gluing unit, and a belt delivery.
