Canon Drives East African Digital Print Evolution
Canon Production Print, along with regional partner Copy Cat, has successfully concluded its three-day Print & Pack Event in Kenya, marking a significant milestone for the printing and packaging sector in East Africa. The joint showcase brought together Canon’s comprehensive production print and wide-format portfolios under a single roof, offering local industry stakeholders a firsthand look at next-generation imaging technologies.
The collaborative exhibition provided live demonstrations of several high-performance printing systems designed to meet growing market demands. Among the featured technology was the imagePRESS V1350, a production colour press engineered for high-volume commercial printing environments that require precise colour consistency and reliability. For high-end creative segments, the imagePROGRAF PRO series was demonstrated, which targets professional photography, fine art, and proofing markets with gallery-grade output.
In addition to high-end graphics production, attendees observed the capabilities of the imagePROGRAF TM series, a line of large-format printers optimised for architectural drawings, posters, and high-impact signage. The exhibition also highlighted real-world applications for the Colorado series, demonstrating how advanced digital printing is reshaping the production of wallpaper, décor, packaging, and signage.
Beyond the technology displays, the event served as a major networking hub for the region’s print industry. Print service providers, packaging converters, graphic designers, and business owners from across Kenya attended the event to explore, ask questions, and strategise the future of their businesses. The event highlighted a strong regional drive towards adopting advanced digital workflows to expand service offerings and improve production efficiencies across East Africa.
