BOBST to Show its Connected Series
BOBST (stand 2J14) will be presenting details of its innovative Connected Series at Gulf Print & Pack 2019, in addition to information about its latest machinery innovations. The Connected Series service connects all BOBST machines on the shop floor to information systems, meaning customers can monitor the performance of their machines in real-time and make informed decisions on improvement.
This is of real benefit to packaging manufacturers. For example, BOBST’s Helpline Plus allows customers to begin troubleshooting with BOBST experts as soon as difficulties arise with machines or with machine operation. Currently, there are almost 5,000 machines connected worldwide, and around 80% of all technical issues are resolved remotely within two hours.
New techniques such as augmented reality continually reveal additional opportunities to provide customers with even better support in the event of technical difficulties. This has allowed BOBST to introduce the Helpline Plus AR (Augmented Reality) service as a further development of their innovative Remote Services. These services allow the customer to wear a special headset and the BOBST expert can virtually see what the machine operator see and provide the operator with precise instructions on what must be done.
