Bank Al-Maghrib and Poste Maroc to Print Postage Stamps
Abdellatif Jouahri, Governor of Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM), and Amin BenjellounTouimi, Managing Director of Barid Al-Maghrib (Poste Maroc), signed a partnership agreement on the printing of postage stamps, on 23 December, 2021, in the capital city of Rabat.
It was agreed that the printing of the stamps will be done at Dar As-Sikkah, a branch of BAM. Dar As-Sikkah was created by King Hassan II in 1987 to meet the needs of Morocco in fiat currency.
This agreement further strengthens the historical relationship between the two institutions in terms of the philatelic collaboration which brought out several special issues of postage stamps commemorating, among other things, the 50th anniversary of Bank Al-Maghrib in 2009, Moroccan currencies in 2011, and the retrospective exhibition devoted to the late painter Abbes Saladi held in the Bank Al-Maghrib Museum in 2021.
