Toyo Ink Group to Highlight Packaging Technology at ProPak Myanmar
Toyo Ink Co., Ltd. and Toyochem Specialty Chemical Sdn. Bhd., both member companies of the Toyo Ink Group of Japan, will be jointly exhibiting at ProPak Myanmar 2018, the trade event for Myanmar’s developing food & beverage, pharmaceutical processing and packaging industries. With this being the first time the Group participates in ProPak Myanmar, the two firms will be looking to spotlight a collective portfolio of inks, coatings, adhesives and speciality products tailored to meet the performance needs of international food producers and brand owners that have, in recent years, established a foothold in the country.
Featured at the Toyo Ink Group Booth C-1 will be its recent innovations in flexible packagings, such as flexo and gravure laminating inks, laminating adhesives (solvent-based and solventless), hot-melt adhesives for packaging materials and PET bottle labels. Also on display will be the Group’s expanded line of sheetfed and coldset offset inks for the commercial or publication printer looking to boost efficiency or add value to their offset printing operations. Rounding out the Group’s special printing effect and functional product portfolio for the food and beverage, and sensitive markets are polymer alloy and frosted masterbatch for plastic moulding, and metal decorating inks and coatings.
Today’s announcement comes off the heels of the Group’s recent US$6.5-million investment to set up a manufacturing subsidiary, Toyo Ink Myanmar, in Yangon’s Thilawa Special Economic Zone. “ProPak is a milestone event for us,” said Hiroyuki Matsumoto, chairman of Toyochem Specialty Chemical. “The event provides us with a platform to not only showcase our products and technology, but also build a strong brand presence in the country’s growing packaging sector. The Toyo Ink Group will soon begin construction on a factory in Yangon with completion slated for fall 2019. At ProPak, we look forward to establishing new ties and to demonstrating our commitment to the future development of Myanmar’s packaging industry.”
ProPak Myanmar 2018 will take place from September 13 to 15 at the Yangon Convention Centre in Yangon.
