The Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM), affiliated to the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism and the Madinat Zayed municipality centre, has launched an e-library service in public places as part of continuously upgrading recreational facilities and to make reading a part of the general lifestyle and as a path towards greater learning and development.
As part of the initiative, QR codes installed in public parks and recreation centres can be scanned by book lovers to read any number of books and magazines in various languages from the digital collection.
Sources at the municipality explained that the e-library was made available to the public as part of an effort to encourage an anytime, anywhere reading habit amongst bibliophiles. The service is available 24×7 and is accessible to people of all ages.
