IPEX positioned as ‘Print in Action’ showcase

IPEX 2017, which will take place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 31st October – 3rd November 2017, is being positioned by its organizers Informa Exhibitions as a premier ‘print in action’ showcase for the latest in professional production technology and applications. The move back to the NEC sees IPEX return to its roots at a central, easy-to-reach venue, which is expected to be popular with European and international visitors and exhibitors.

Informa has switched the frequency of IPEX from four years to three to match drupa (2016) and IGAS (2018), fitting it between the two. The organizers have developed a new clear ‘all-inclusive’ package for exhibitors: the maximum stand size is limited to 500 sqm, and the price of exhibiting includes equipment lifting (on and off), machinery mains connection and power consumption.

“Our aim is to deliver an event for exhibitors and visitors alike that showcases the best in print which means that we want the full spectrum of print equipment in action on the show floor,” says Rob Fisher, IPEX event director. “To facilitate this, we’ll support exhibitors by picking up some of the extra – and sometimes hidden – costs of exhibiting. To our knowledge, it’s an unprecedented move to pay for equipment and machinery lifting, and machinery mains power and consumption. Exhibitors will experience a better return on their investment if costs are kept down.”

Caroline Watson, IPEX 2017 marketing director at Informa Exhibitions, adds, “We’ve spent a great deal of time talking to exhibitors and visitors from previous events and used their feedback to develop a genuinely user-friendly format. We fully expect to have on show for the first time production versions of many key models and technologies announced at the forthcoming drupa, and combined with the show’s 500m2 capped stand size and emphasis on active displays, this will make IPEX 2017 a great buyers’ event.”
