Wide format print signage, digital signage, outdoor media, screen and digital printing industries are the highlights of 19th edition of the Sign and Graphics Imaging Middle East exhibition, SGI 2016 Dubai, which has maintained its position as the launching ground for new products for the signage and advertising industries in the Middle East and Africa.
The show was officially inaugurated today by Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Director General of Dubai Government Media Office.
Over the next three days, over 400 global and regional exhibitors will unveil equipment worth AED220 million, attracting trade visitors from over 80 countries, including sign makers, printer manufacturers and distributors, print service providers, architects, real estate developers, media agencies, brand and image consultants among others.
Demonstrations of the ever-increasing applications of wide format printing will be among the biggest highlights of SGI 2016. As traditional sign making technologies are declining, digital technologies are taking over and offer a multitude of applications that enable print shop owners to increase their business and engage in new applications. This year’s show has been divided into pavilions: print, fabricating and finishing, textile, screen, digital and retail.
“Being the largest exhibition of its kind in the Middle East, SGI Dubai attracts exhibitors and visitors from across the world who mutually stand to benefit from each other’s presence. There has been a sense of revival in the region in a big way post Dubai’s Expo 2020 win and we can see the development happening around us at a breakneck speed. The demand within the printing and signage industry has grown tremendously, and I am sure the stakeholders in this industry have experienced this growth since the last few years. SGI Dubai is aptly positioned to cater to the demands of the industry and is in sync with the exponential growth that the region is witnessing,” says Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, Chairman of International Expo Consults (IEC), organizers of SGI Dubai.
