Saudi Paper Inks Contract to Build Fifth Production Line
Leading tissue paper manufacturer Saudi Paper Manufacturing Company has awarded a 20.6 million riyal ($5.49 million) contract to Al Khobar-based Dorar Tammam Company (DTC), a turnkey construction services provider, to build its fifth production line for paper tissue rolls.
The contract includes the construction of the steel structure and the building of the production facility, the Dammam-headquartered company said in a statement to Tadawul, the Saudi Exchange. The work is expected to be completed within 270 days of receiving the down payment and building permit, as well as delivery of the work site.
It must be noted that Saudi Paper had signed an agreement with Toscotec, an Italian technology and customized solutions provider to paper producers, in October 2022, to supply a raw tissue paper rolls production line for its Dammam 2nd Industrial City factory at a cost of 166 million riyals ($44.17 million). The new machine as the fifth production line has a production capacity of 60,000 tonnes per year, raising the company’s total production capacity to 1,90,000 tonnes from 1,30,000 tonnes per annum.
