Salalah Free Zone (SFZ) has signed an investment agreement with Next Generation Recycling to establish a new PET recycling plant in the Sultanate of Oman. The facility will focus on producing high-quality, hot-washed food-grade rPET flakes.
The project represents a significant long-term investment exceeding $50 million, planned for implementation in multiple phases over a 30-year period. The project’s extensive scope covers capacity expansion of existing PET recycling lines and the development of collection facilities across all of Oman. The agreement also includes potential future opportunities to recycle other types of plastic polymers, such as HDPE and LDPE.
Developed on a land area exceeding 15,000 sq m, the project aims to support the growth of an integrated industrial ecosystem. It strategically leverages Salalah’s position as a key logistics hub to serve both the European and US markets, aligning with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
