plastprintpack Ethiopia 2025 to Showcase Vibrant Industry

Building on the incredible success of plastprintpack and agrofood Ethiopia 2024 featuring a top-level trade show and conference that saw active participation of key Ethiopian ministries and associations, the event organisers have announced an even more vibrant experience for the 2025 edition to be held at Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa from 19-21 June, 2025.

The 7th edition of this key industry gathering for Ethiopia’s plastics, printing, packaging, and agrofood sectors, jointly organised by fairtrade Messe and local partner Prana Events, will feature around 120 exhibitors from over 10 countries showcasing tailored products and solutions serving Ethiopia’s lively plastics, printing, packaging, food and beverage, and agriculture industries.

Exhibits will include packaging/printing materials and technologies; raw materials and plastics technology; food and beverage processing technology; agriculture, plant, and animal production; food ingredients; and finished food, food trade, and hospitality equipment.

The accompanying conference programme by the Ethiopian Plastic and Rubber Manufacturers Association (EPR), the Ethiopian Beverages Manufacturing Industries Association (EBMIA), and many more will be held on the sidelines focusing on a variety of interesting, resourceful, and challenging topics that are trending in the industry globally, along with their timely solutions.

Thriving Market

Ethiopia is the second largest importer of plastics in primary form among countries in East and Central Africa. Ethiopia imports 100% plastic raw materials as there’s no production, with imports growing by 13.5% per year between 2007 and 2020. The East African nation is one of the region’s two largest importers of plastics technology, with imports of 18 million euros in 2022.

With an annual growth rate of 7.4% from 2016 to 2021, Ethiopia is one Africa’s fastest growing importers of printing and paper converting technologies. The country is also one of the largest importers of packaging technology in East Africa, with imports amounting to 16 million euros in 2022.
