Paperworld Middle East 2020 to be Postponed
Messe Frankfurt Middle East, the organisers of Paperworld Middle East 2020 have announced that they have decided to postpone the event completely. The event which also runs Gifts & Lifestyle Middle East in parallel will now be held in March 2021.
“In response to the escalating situation regarding the Covid-19 virus, yesterday we wrote to all of our Paperworld Middle East exhibitors to gain a sense of whether or not we should proceed with running Paperworld and Gifts & Lifestyle Middle East next week at the Dubai World Trade Centre,” the organiser Messe Frankfurt Middle East said in a statement.
The company further added, “The response we’ve had was both swift and definitive. The overwhelming majority of our exhibitors opted to postpone the show until March 2021 and after having carefully reviewed this feedback, we have decided to honour these wishes and today announce the postponement of Paperworld Middle East to 2nd to 4th March 2021.”
Messe Frankfurt Middle East also said that this is a short-term situation requiring immediate action and is not a decision they have taken lightly nor without full possession of the facts. The UAE Ministry of Education today had announced that all private and public schools and colleges across UAE will be under lockdown for the next four weeks as part of preventative and precautionary measures.
Messe Frankfurt Middle East’s statement further added that the first priority is to the health and well-being of its exhibitors and visitors.” We remain committed to the show and to this market. We look forward to working with you towards a great show next year,” the statement concluded.
