MEPCO Expends More on Upcoming Tissue Paper Company
Saudi Arabia’s Middle East Paper Company (MEPCO) has stated that the investment cost of its tissue paper and hygienic jumbo paper rolls production plant increased to $97.44 million from $90.10 million amid delays on rising shipping costs and higher global material prices.
A statement released by the Jeddah-based paper manufacturer to the Saudi Stock Exchange Tadawul disclosed that its groundbreaking Juthor Paper Manufacturing Company project, which is nearing completion, will begin trial operations in the second quarter of 2023, followed by commercial operations. The launch date has been postponed amid delays in delivery of equipment due to global supply chain disruptions and the pandemic.
Strategically-located nearby King Abdullah Port, Juthor Paper Manufacturing Company is a fully-owned subsidiary specialized in manufacturing tissue paper with an annual capacity of 60,000 tons, targeting markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
