Marbach Expands Portfolio with Lightweight Dieboard

German die-cutting and thermoforming tools manufacturer Marbach has expanded their portfolio with an aluminium version of the ‘solidplate’ cutting die with dimensionally stable dieboard. This special dieboard not only impresses with its precision, but also with its low weight, making it particularly advantageous for large folding box formats.

Precision is key when die-cutting, especially with large formats. The larger the tool, the greater the impact of even the smallest dimensional tolerances. The tool weight is also a factor that should not be underestimated.

Marbach industry manager Bernhard Reisser says, “By using aluminium instead of steel, the solidplate|alu is very precise and thus ensures productivity and the best die-cutting results in packaging production. But that’s not all: it is also lightweight and therefore much easier to handle than a steel tool.”

The solidplate|alu is a dimensionally stable dieboard that is characterized by its good hygroscopic properties, an optimal register to the steel counter plate and its durability as well as a high number of reknifings. In addition, the ejector rubber on the solidplate|alu is particularly easy to replace.

The solidplate|alu is used primarily for food packaging, but numerous other applications are also possible, such as in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
