Heidelberg Goes Digital At GPP 2015
Heidelberg will be presenting an integrated portfolio of offset and digital print solutions for commercial and packaging printing from a single source at Gulf Print & Pack in Dubai. The trade show will also mark the market launch in the MENA region of the new Linoprint CV / CP digital printing systems from Heidelberg
Prinect will incorporate the digital and offset printing systems on show and the associated prepress and postpress solutions into an integrated workflow. The commercial printing presentation will focus on the regional launch of the new Linoprint CV and Linoprint CP digital printing systems from Heidelberg, which deliver enhanced flexibility, productivity, and quality when printing short and/or personalised runs. Heidelberg will also be joining forces with the Gallus Group, which it took over completely last year, to provide details about trends in digital label production based on the inkjet technology of partner Fujifilm. Series production of the Gallus DCS 340 digital label press will start this year.
Print products are in growing demand in the emerging markets and developing countries of the MENA region. For one thing, there are more consumer goods to be labelled and packaged. For another, there is a need for all kinds of advertising materials in the private sector and for security printing of documents and securities in the public sector. As a result, print shops in these markets are increasingly investing in cutting-edge technologies. New printing companies are also opening in this growth region.
“Like virtually all markets, the MENA region is seeing a significant trend towards digital printing,” said Harald Weimer, member of the management board responsible for sales and services at Heidelberg.
