Packaging machinery major BOBST was honoured to join the Swiss National Day celebrations held on 1 August, 2024. The invitees received a warm welcome by Josef Renggli, Swiss Ambassador to Tunisia and Libya, at his Tunis residence.
“It was a pleasure to commemorate this special occasion and strengthen our ties with the Swiss community,” says Mohamed Hassairi, Regional Marketing & Communications Manager BOBST Africa & Middle East and Turkey/Caucasus.
Since 1891, the first of August has been celebrated as Swiss National Day. The date refers to a historic alliance concluded in 1291 by the three cantons of Uri, Schwyz, and Unterwalden. This alliance was to become the focal point around which modern-day Switzerland was built over the next 500 years.
Ever since a regional office was established in Tunisia in 1992, BOBST has provided direct sales, service, and support to countries in Africa and the Middle East. Over the years BOBST Africa & Middle East has increased its regional footprint with offices in Cairo (2000), Dubai (2006), and Lagos (2016), and a sales and services network in cities including Cairo, Jeddah, Johannesburg, and Nairobi. The company has experienced considerable growth over the years, both in terms of human resources and in turnover by adapting and implementing BOBST Group’s overall vision.
