African Market Sees Value Growth
The second largest print consumables market in the world, behind the Americas, saw value growth in the third quarter of 2016. The Euro-MiddleEast-African market will also host its dedicated print consumables expo—this time in Cairo in 2017.
According to IDC, the African hardcopy peripherals market overall witnessed a steady growth in value in the third quarter of 2016. Although the number of shipments declined 6.5%, the value of the overall market increased steadily by 4.7% reaching $196.09 million.
Roberto Alunni, IDC researcher said, “While South Africa and Nigeria suffered large declines in the number of units, Algeria and Tunisia were able to offset this with gains in color inkjet space.” Other countries including the Emirates, Egypt, Kenya, and Tanzania are growing rapidly as their markets prosper.
To help companies find new solutions in the EMEA market, RT Media is running its popular RT Imaging Expo and Summit at the InterContinental Hotel in the CityStars complex in Cairo on April 23-24, 2017. The expo and conference is expected to have over 50 exhibitors and more than 1,000 visitors.
By the close of 2016, 90% of the exhibition space was booked out and more exhibitors are anxiously requesting information so they can participate without disappointment. Registration has opened for visitors with all pre-registered visitors getting free expo tickets. The on-site ticket price is US$10.
