Dar Al Khaleej Takes Delivery Of Automatic Inserting Line From Ferag
Dar Al Khaleej is making a systematic investment to increase quality and automate its printing house, where the emphasis is on the mailroom. After the automation of bundling, the company has now successfully tackled the inserting sector and installed Ferag’s MiniSert.
Dar Al Khaleej Publishing placed print production on a new technological footing in 2008 with the installation of a newspaper press equipped with heatset, the first step towards automation in the mailroom was taken in 2011, in partnership with Ferag & Dynagraph. Today the MiniSert enables automatic supplement inserting for the first time and thus play a substantial role in increasing efficiency.
Dar Al Khaleej Publishing publishes the daily newspapers Dar Al Khaleej and Gulf Today, and in recent years has also increased its commitment to the production of semi-commercials. With a circulation over 90,000 copies and a pagination exceeding 80 pages full color pages, Dar Al Khaleej is the biggest Arabic daily newspaper in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Gulf Today is an English-language title that is very popular, especially with the business community. A broad spectrum of supplements is also produced – with the heatset equipment giving the company access to a wide range of applications.
Prior to June 2013, supplement inserting was still completely manual at Dar Al Khaleej Publishing. But due to the rising volume of supplements, a production bottleneck arose, and from an economical standpoint, too, manual inserting offered few prospects over the long term. After presentation of the MiniSert concept by Ferag at drupa 2012, the company saw the potential of MiniSert with regard getting started in automatic inserting on the basis of a manageable investment sum.
