Al Bayader Champions ‘Make it in the Emirates’ Globally
Sharjah-based Al Bayader International, a global leader specialized in manufacturing and supplying comprehensive food packaging solutions and cleaning products for various purposes in an innovative and sustainable manner is taking the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ campaign to the world by showcasing its range of world-class products at international trade shows.
In line with Operation 300 Billion, a comprehensive 10-year strategy aiming to develop the UAE’s industrial sector and enhance its role in stimulating the national economy, Al Bayader has been leading from the front to boost industrial output and diversify its product portfolio.
Operation 300 Billion aims to make the industrial sector the main driver of the UAE’s economy, contributing AED 300 billion to the GDP by 2031, more than doubling its current contribution.
As part of its strategy to support the national initiative, Al Bayader was part of the Dubai Exports pavilion at World of Private Label international tradeshow held at RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre from 31 May to 1 June, 2022, where it was able to garner good response from retailers and suppliers interested in their UAE-made products.
Business Development & Sustainability Manager at Al Bayader Jamil Haddad says that with worldwide demand for sustainable packaging solutions increasing significantly, acceleration in business and consumer demand for sustainable packaging is desirable.
In this context, Nidal Haddad, founder and CEO of Al Bayader International says, “Since 1996, we have been manufacturing products that meet high-quality international standards. In our quest to stimulate the demand for sustainable packaging products around the world, we need to launch more product innovations to show the different types of sustainable products available. There is no doubt that consumer brands do not help in developing demand, given their abundance, which causes confusion. Innovation in products is therefore the only way forward.”
Recently, Al Bayader International launched its latest range of sustainable packaging solutions made from sugar cane pulp. These products are part of the company’s wider sustainability strategy that will significantly contribute to the UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative by reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Al Bayader International has championed sustainability in the food packaging industry by launching the UAE’s first solar rooftop at its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) generating over 1.5GWh of clean electricity annually.
Today, the company owns and operates six manufacturing units and nine logistics facilities with an annual production capacity of over 31,000 tonnes covering more than 1,700 products.
Among the company’s sustainability best practices include a botanical garden in Jebel Ali that houses over 20 types of plants and around 240 species of trees endemic to the Mediterranean region. The garden which uses treated sewage water for its irrigation offsets nearly 2.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
