IPACK-IMA, the international exhibition dedicated to processing and packaging technologies and innovative materials, has officially begun its journey towards the 2028 edition with results that mark a new milestone in the event’s history—starting with the rebooking phase, when exhibitors from the previous edition secure their exhibition space well in advance.
Nearly one year after its latest edition, organisers of IPACK-IMA have reported a significant surge in exhibitor confidence, with re-confirmation numbers for the next event already outpacing previous records. The number of companies that have already secured their space for the 2028 exhibition is currently 22% higher than figures recorded during the same period leading up to the 2025 edition. This early momentum is seen as a strong indicator of industry trust in the exhibition, which will take place at Fiera Milano from 29 May–1 June 2028.
Pharmintech, powered by Ipack Ima, is seeing even more aggressive growth, which, at the same rebooking deadline, recorded a 34% increase in re-confirmed exhibitors compared to the 2025 edition. This performance reinforces the increasingly central position of the event dedicated to Life Science technologies, held concurrently with IPACK-IMA.
These figures, all showing growth compared to previous editions, confirm the strength of the exhibition model. Exhibitors are not only confirming their participation but are choosing to renew their presence well in advance, recognising IPACK-IMA and Pharmintech as strategic platforms for business development and key reference events for processing, packaging, and chemical-pharmaceutical technologies.
Building on this solid base of confirmations, IPACK-IMA is now preparing to officially present the 2028 edition, showcasing the key developments at the heart of its new vision through three major moments at the Messe Düsseldorf exhibition space.
One Stand, Three Worlds: Ecosystem on Display
More than just an exhibition space, the stand located in Hall 11, B19, will act as a gateway to the entire IPACK-IMA ecosystem. For the first time, visitors can explore a unified offering that brings together IPACK-IMA, Pharmintech, and Bevertech. This collaborative project highlights advanced technological solutions for the liquid food and beverage industry. By uniting these three events under a shared vision, the initiative aims to provide industry professionals with a streamlined look at the entire value chain, fostering meaningful connections and high-level technological exchange.
Press Conference: Looking Beyond 2028
Beyond figures and updates, a press conference on 8 May—scheduled for 10.30 am in Hall 10, Room 10.1A—will serve as a strategic observatory for the future of the industry. The agenda will include market forecasts presented by the MECS Research Center, alongside a roundtable discussion involving industry and market leaders, offering insights into the main technological macrotrends shaping the sector. The conference will also feature updates from UCIMA, as well as the presentation of IPACK-IMA’s ecosystem vision and its partnership with Informa Markets. The session will conclude with an address by Valentino Valentini, Italy’s Deputy Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, marking a key moment through which the exhibition will present its 2028 project to the international audience.
Italian Night: Where Business Meets Relationships
The final event will see IPACK-IMA co-organising Italian Night, the gala evening to be held on 10 May in collaboration with UCIMA. Long established as a flagship networking event during the exhibition, it will provide an opportunity for the industry to come together beyond the exhibition halls, in an informal and inspiring setting designed to foster dialogue, relationships, and new connections.
