United Printing and Publishing (UPP), one of the largest commercial printing companies based in Abu Dhabi has acquired the latest Canon Océ Ultra Plus 6160 from Canon Emirates. The machine will be utilised to cater to the market potential of producing books-on-demand for various sectors including self-publishers, local authors, financial institutes and airline companies.
The first installation of the machine in the Middle East is expected to bolster the printing press’ capacity in the realm of print on-demand services at a much quicker pace and at higher quality. With the new equipment, UPP can now produce offset quality printing with digital flexibility.

Canon claims the Océ VarioPrint 6160 Ultra Line, is the world’s fastest and most productive digital perfecting printing system which uses Océ Gemini Technology to provide cost-effective solutions. The system uses a single engine to drive two imaging belts that print both sides of the page in a single pass. As a result, duplex jobs print faster and more reliably.
