Dubai-based Circular Packaging Association (CPA) has elected a new board for the upcoming two-year term, marking a significant step in its renewed commitment towards strengthening public-private collaboration in the UAE.

Mohamed Ali Eldabaa of Procter & Gamble has been elected as Chairman with Marcelo Piva of Tetra Pak as Vice Chairman. Mondelēz International’s Emeel Bishay has been appointed Treasurer, with Sara Jackson of Green Ethics as Secretary General. “By uniting industry leaders and government entities, the CPA aims to advance the circular economy agenda forward, fostering sustainable packaging solutions that benefit both, our environment and economy,” says Eldabaa. “The CPA is more than an industry association – it’s a platform for action. The new leadership will foster strategic partnerships, advocate progressive policies, and drive industry-wide collaborations to accelerate the shift to a truly circular packaging ecosystem.”

The new CPA board’s renewed mandate will focus on strengthening policy engagement to support the UAE’s transition towards a circular economy, expand industry partnerships to scale up sustainable packaging solutions, advocate regulations that drive circular business models, and empower businesses with the knowledge and tools to implement best practices.

The association actively supports the development of regulatory frameworks that enable sustainable packaging innovation through industry insights, policy recommendations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

With sustainability taking centre stage in the UAE’s economic vision, the CPA remains committed to bridging the gap between industry and policy makers, ensuring that packaging innovations align with sustainability goals such as the UAE Net Zero 2050 and the UAE Circular Economy Policy 2021-2031.
