What began as a purely technical decision has evolved into a strategic milestone for Sade Ofset Packaging & Label. The Istanbul-based operation, which specialises in chocolate packaging, wet-glue labels, and high-quality packaging solutions, has adopted the Prinect Production platform from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG) as its central hub for digital print production management. The integration seamlessly connects prepress, press, and production planning workflows, enabling the automatic capture of production and quality data.
From Technology Upgrade to Integrated Workflow Platform
Facing substantial upgrade costs to modernise the Raster Image Processor (RIP) of the CtP system, Sade Ofset found a practical solution in HEIDELBERG’s subscription model. The alternative offering provided an entry point into the Prinect workflow at a time when the company was running exclusively on presses from other manufacturers. “At first, moving to Prinect seemed like a straightforward business decision to avoid high upgrade costs. Looking back, I can say that decision became an important strategic turning point for our company,” says Sade Ofset Managing Partner Murat Demir.
From the very beginning, Prinect’s paper stretch compensation proved to be a particularly decisive advantage. In packaging and label printing with substrates ranging from 70 to 80 g/m², precise registration had been one of the greatest production challenges. “Maintaining register accuracy on thin materials was a major challenge for us. With Prinect’s paper stretch compensation, we were able to manage this issue much more effectively,” explains Demir.
Sade Ofset Consolidates Production with Speedmaster CX 104
As confidence in HEIDELBERG grew, the Turkish packaging and label printer expanded its use of Prinect to cover planning, cost analysis, and production control. This laid the groundwork for a fundamental consolidation of press capacity. Last year, the company replaced two of its existing presses with a new HEIDELBERG Speedmaster CX 104 equipped with an inline colour and quality control system. Consequently, the single new press now delivers the same production volumes that previously required two machines running double shifts. “Our goal was to bring planning, prepress, and pressroom together in one integrated environment to improve efficiency, scheduling quality, and resource utilisation,” emphasises Demir.
“The Sade Ofset example shows that the digitalisation of production processes goes far beyond individual software functions. It is only through the intelligent networking of data, machines, and processes that the foundation for efficiency gains and economically successful production is created,” says Jürgen Grimm, Head of Prinect at HEIDELBERG.
As its next step, Sade Ofset plans to further integrate Prinect with its existing MIS system in order to increase the level of automation in production control.
