Sharjah-based Menassah Distribution Company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Malaysia’s Perbadanan Kota Buku to strengthen the presence of Emirati books and Arabic content in the Malaysian market. The agreement—signed in the presence of HH Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and Honorary President of the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA)—aims to foster cultural and knowledge exchange between the UAE and Malaysia by leveraging advanced digital channels to expand the reach of Emirati and Arabic content into new global markets.
Under the agreement, Menassah will make more than 3,000 titles from Emirati publishing houses available through Book Capital, a leading digital platform operated by Perbadanan Kota Buku for book sales and distribution. The platform offers an extensive and diverse catalogue spanning multiple genres, including children’s books, English fiction, self-development, history and culture, and educational publications. Perbadanan Kota Buku will facilitate the distribution of these publications across Malaysia, providing Emirati publishers with direct access to a vital local market. “By making more than 3,000 Emirati titles available through Malaysia’s Book Capital platform, this partnership opens new opportunities for Emirati publishers while bringing Arabic content to wider audiences, educational institutions, and readers across Malaysia,” says Sheikha Bodour.
The partnership aligns with Menassah Distribution Company’s strategy to expand its regional and international network through high-quality distribution channels. By enhancing global visibility of Emirati and Arabic books, the initiative supports the long-term sustainability of the publishing industry, and reinforces the UAE’s established position as a regional hub for knowledge creation, cultural exchange, and dissemination of global information.
“International collaboration is vital to the future of publishing, and partnerships like this catalyse the exchange of knowledge, expand access to more voices, and demonstrate how digital distribution can help connect books with new communities,” adds Sheikha Bodour.
