Lombardi Expands Mideast Footprint with Yemen Installation

Italy’s Lombardi Converting Machinery has secured a key contract in the Middle East with the installation of its Invicta i1 flexographic press at All Pack Yemen for Printing. The 9-colour, 800 mm-wide inline press marks a significant technology investment intended to expand flexible packaging, label, and product packaging capabilities in the region. The installment also marks a significant milestone in the Italian manufacturer’s international expansion in the flexible packaging market.

The fully servo-driven, modular Invicta i1 platform provides All Pack Yemen with enhanced print quality, production flexibility, and rapid job changeovers across a wide range of flexible packaging applications.

The capital investment highlights the Yemeni converter’s commitment to adapting advanced manufacturing technologies despite navigating severe geopolitical and supply chain headwinds. “In a world where headlines are dominated by conflict, uncertainty, disrupted supply chains, and geopolitical tensions affecting the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz, this achievement means far more than the sale of another printing press. It is a statement, a statement that manufacturing doesn’t stop because the world becomes more complicated, a statement that innovation, trust, and long-term partnerships can cross borders even when uncertainty tries to build walls,” says Nicola Lombardi, Marketing Manager at Lombardi Converting Machinery.

Designed and manufactured in Italy, the Invicta i1 platform delivers full automation and high-efficiency through its advanced sleeve changeover system and a ten-motor precision control architecture. Operating at an industry-leading top speed of 200 m/min, the platform offers dynamic control over kiss impression adjustments and side-to-side registration and precise print outputs. Engineered for high performance, the printing press accommodates web widths ranging from 450 mm to 800 mm while maintaining unmatched registration accuracy across all operations.

Other standout features include its extensive substrate versatility and large-format capabilities. The ergonomic system seamlessly processes a wide array of materials, including BOPP, PVC, PET, thermal paper, and laminated cardboard. Furthermore, its lightweight printing sleeves enable the press to handle large repeat patterns up to 36 inches (914 mm).

As packaging converters in the Middle East increasingly adapt to shifting demands, the successful deployment of the Invicta i1 platform in Yemen positions Lombardi as a key technological partner for future market expansion.
