Japanese tech major Komori Corporation has announced the successful installation of its first dedicated banknote production line at the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye’s printing facility in Ankara.
The high-security facility features a comprehensive suite of Komori’s specialised currency technology. The installation includes a LC1032 offset press; an IC532 intaglio press, critical for the tactile ‘raised’ print found on authentic currency; and a NV532 combination multiprocess numbering and varnishing press that reduces the need for separate operators, eliminating work in progress and drying times.
The project highlights the growing partnership between the Japanese manufacturer and the Turkish national bank. “We are thrilled to have installed our first line of banknote presses into the Central Bank of Turkey,” says Joanne Wickham, Sales and Finance Support, Komori Currency Technology. “We are looking forward to working on new projects in the future.”
Based in Dorking, UK, Komori Currency Technology – a specialised branch of Komori Corporation – focuses on high-security banknote printing presses and related equipment. They provide advanced printing technology, including intaglio and offset presses for currency production worldwide.
