WAN-IFRA, the World Association of News Publishers, has appointed Kim Svendsen as its new Membership Director. With over two decades of experience on the technology and innovation side of the media industry, Svendsen brings passion, knowledge and experience to this crucial role.
Kim Svendsen has held various leadership positions, most recently at Stibo DX, a supplier of systems and services to global media groups. His extensive background in media technology and deep understanding of the global news media ecosystem make him uniquely positioned to lead WAN-IFRA’s membership initiatives.
In his new role at WAN-IFRA, Svendsen will lead efforts to grow and engage the organisation’s global membership. He will focus on strengthening relationships with existing members, expanding the membership base, and enhancing engagement strategies to support the evolving needs of news publishers, digital media companies, and industry stakeholders.
“I am honoured to join WAN-IFRA! Having worked closely with the organisation on numerous initiatives and events over the years, I found choosing to join as Membership Director easy. I deeply respect and share the WAN-IFRA mission and passion,” says Svendsen about his appointment. “I look forward to working closely with our members and the WAN-IFRA team to address the challenges and opportunities facing news organisations.”
Svendsen’s experience includes driving digital transformation, developing innovative media solutions, and fostering strategic partnerships. New and existing members of the association will soon experience Kim’s solution-oriented and energetic efforts to ensure that WAN-IFRA continues to provide meaningful value to its members and the industry in general.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kim Svendsen to the WAN-IFRA family,” says WAN-IFRA CEO Vincent Peyrègne. “His extensive experience and deep industry knowledge will be instrumental in strengthening our membership offerings and supporting our mission to foster international cooperation and promote press freedom worldwide.”
