HP Joins eGovernment Authority to Improve Service Efficiency

An agreement between Zayani Infosystems Middle East and Bahrain’s eGovernment authority (eGA) has decided to implement an electronic system to improve the management of eGovernment projects.

HP has decided to partner with the eGovernment authority to implement this project. The HP Project Portfolio Management (PPM) software will facilitate eGA’s programs as well as those carried out in collaboration with other public and private sector entities.

The Authority coordinates and executes eGovernment initiatives in line with programs set by the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology (SCICT), headed by H.H. Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain.

This includes proposing IT programs, facilitating communications and services between all government entities, and opening new channels for eGovernment services. As well as offering more than 240 basic governmental services electronically to all citizens, residents and businesses of Bahrain, it also provides technical and knowledge-based support to other government departments.

“The eGovernment Authority needs to ensure that our project management meets the highest standards of competence,” said eGovernment Authority CEO Mohammed Ali Al Qaed.

“To improve the quality of services provided by the public sector, we decided to take advantage of private sector expertise. HP and Zayani Infosystems Middle East will help us deliver results within the time specified and without exceeding the allocated budget,” he added.

HP PPM software will be an integral part of the eGovernment Authority’s initiative to automate project management processes, models and procedures. By providing real-time visibility into all the eGA’s IT investments at all times, and from multiple perspectives, it will accelerate project implementation.

HP PPM will significantly reduce repetitive manual processes and produce regular, accurate reports to facilitate efficient handover. As well as real-time enterprise reporting and support for ad-hoc queries, it includes controls to enhance visibility, maintain compliance and reduce costs. HP IT Financial Management will help the eGovernment Authority adapt IT budgets and resources to business change, while HP Application Portfolio Management will improve governance of the organization’s business application portfolio.

“In addition to providing quality services to citizens, government entities need to ensure that complex projects run to time and budget,” said Tayfun Topkoc, Software Director, HP Middle East. “HP Software has a proven track record of delivering services which add value and increase customer satisfaction.” he added.
