Fujifilm has today announced it is launching a series of one-day Corrugated Summits to be held in November and December 2015 at its UK production facility in Broadstairs, Kent. The series of summits – each one focused on a specific territory – will demonstrate how investing in UV inkjet technology can help increase production flexibility, efficiency and profitability as well as open up new opportunities in the packaging and corrugated sectors. A key focus of the Summits will be the new Onset X Series, and how this industry-leading platform can add value to corrugated printing.
Says Steve Wood, marketing manager, corrugated display & packaging, Fujifilm: “We made the decision to launch a series of Corrugated Summits with each one focused on a particular region, as it allows us to tailor the presentations to the exact needs of the participants from that region or country. Each regional market has subtle nuances that distinguish it, so by doing it this way we can ensure visitors extract maximum relevance and value from their attendance.”
Each event will consist of a number of presentations outlining the benefits of UV printing technology, together with the opportunities this technology presents in the corrugated market, as well as how working in partnership with Fujifilm and Inca Digital will enable packaging and printing companies to confidently invest in market-leading UV inkjet technologies.
The presentations will be followed by a chance to see Inca and Fujifilm’s corrugated printing production process in action, a detailed analysis of the business case for investing in the Onset X Series, and finally a tour of Fujifilm Speciality Inks Systems’ R&D and digital manufacturing facilities.
The live demonstration will be undertaken using a complete UV inkjet system for sheet-fed corrugated print production in a real production environment. The system will include an Onset X2 flatbed UV machine and a Clinchtech double robot handling system, running full pallets of corrugated media. The X2 will be printing using Uvijet OL low odour inks, with the printed product then moved to an offline cutting and finishing operation to complete the process.
Concludes Mr Wood: “We have designed these Summits to provide attendees with everything they need to make a detailed assessment of the value of UV inkjet technology to their business. Throughout the day, they will be able to experience first-hand the real power of inkjet as we demonstrate pre-press, print, automated handling and finishing under true production conditions.
“We look forward to welcoming customers from around the world to this exciting series of Corrugated Summits. This market is changing dramatically as run lengths reduce, turnaround times decrease and brands demand ever more creative, dynamic and personalised packaging and corrugated printing solutions. Fujifilm and the Onset X Series offer packaging and printing companies a genuine commercial solution to help address these multiple pressures.”
