Nuremberg plays host to FACHPACK 2022, the European trade fair for packaging, technology, and processing, to be held at NürnbergMesse from 27-29 September, 2022.
1090 exhibitors have confirmed their participation in this compact, three-day trade fair with over 300 products, 36 of them being new.
This year’s key theme “Transition in Packaging” speaks about the strong trends currently impacting the packaging industry. Stories from companies and research will throw light on the sea change happening in the industry. Sustainability is demanded not only by law but also by consumers, and that is making far-reaching changes to the industry. Subjects such as circular economy, e-commerce, and digitalization add to the mix. Talks from solution providers, developers, users, researchers, large companies, and fledgling start-ups that are actively shaping this change will focus on several key topics including the aspect of hygiene in product protection, growth in online shopping and home deliveries, and future consumer behaviour in purchasing, among many others.
Besides the key theme, future topics on business development, entrepreneurship, and product innovation also play a special role in this year’s presentations. The PACKBOX and TECHBOX forums, designed by partners from the industry, have become fixed programme items as popular crowd pullers inviting interested parties to listen to or join in the discussions.
Also available is the INNOVATIONBOX, the new exhibitor forum, where registered exhibitors can preset their product highlights and innovations to trade visitors on site and which are live streamed in short, crisp 30-minute presentations.
Special shows will be organized as part of FACHPACK to offer inspiration, provide new impulses, and outline perspectives, focusing on current industry trends as well as future-related topics. Hall 7 will also feature ‘Transition in Packaging through Design’, a special show that will direct attention on the opportunities in packaging design created by transformation processes in society that goes hand-in-hand with consumer behaviour and needs. With companies facing new ecological challenges and issues related to consumer retention, the FACHPACK Special Show 2022 will present designers’ responses to these transformations.
As part of the special show, the thematic headings of ‘Address’, ‘Amaze’, and ‘Advance’ will showcase selected examples of designers who have used package design strategically with the aim of making these innovations on display a source of inspiration for new trends and impulses in the packaging industry.
