CPA, MCBG Sign MoU for UAE Packaging Circularity

In a major move to advance sustainable development in the region, the Circular Packaging Association (CPA) and the Multinational Companies Business Group (MCBG) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration on packaging circularity in the UAE.

The agreement formally bridges the technical capabilities of CPA with MCBG’s expansive network of 57 multinational companies, establishing a platform for knowledge sharing, evidence-based dialogue, and practical approaches to sustainable packaging. The MoU by signed by Mohamed Ali Eldabaa, Chairman of CPA, and Turki Binmoammar, Chairman of MCBG.

The partnership represents a concerted effort to accelerate the UAE’s transition towards a circular economy by aligning international best practices with local market realities.

CPA Chairman Eldabaa emphasised that driving packaging circularity demands cross-industry collaboration, nothing that the partnership with MCBG leverages the shared knowledge and diverse expertise of regional multinationals to foster scalable, commercially viable solutions that support the UAE’s sustainability goals.

Under the terms of the MoU, both organisations will collaborate on extensive knowledge sharing, thought leadership, public advocacy, awareness, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. By adapting global lessons to local priorities, the alliance aims to create practical, commercially viable pathways that support the nation’s broader sustainability and environmental goals.

MCBG Chairman Binmoammar highlighted that their members’ extensive cross-market and regulatory insights, combined with deep knowledge of the UAE, will help bridge the gap between circularity ambitions and practical action across investments, innovation, supply chains, and implementation.
