Cimpress, the Ireland-based global leader in web-to-print mass customisation, and Canva, the Australian design software company, have announced a major, multi-year strategic partnership, integrating Canva’s design platform directly with the global print manufacturing network of Cimpress. The agreement names Cimpress and VistaPrint, a Cimpress company, as the preferred print partners for Canva’s millions of users across more than 25 countries.
Streamlining Digital Design to Physical Print
The partnership merges Canva’s cloud-native design software with Cimpress’s proprietary mass-customisation technology. Users can now design marketing collateral, signage, garments, and custom packaging inside Canva and instantly route print-ready files to local VistaPrint production facilities. “Canva AI will integrate directly with Cimpress systems, so customers can move from a design prompt to a professionally produced, print-ready physical product without leaving Canva. This gives Cimpress a meaningful new customer on-ramp at scale, and gives Canva a trusted production partner for its Print Shop strategy, creating real growth opportunities for both companies,” elaborates Cimpress Founder, Chairman, and CEO Robert Keane.
The rollout of an initial set of VistaPrint branded products in the United States and Canada will be followed by a rapid expansion to more than 25 countries by September end. To dramatically lower international shipping times and carbon footprints, orders will route through major localised Cimpress fulfillment hubs, including key facilities like Deer Park in Victoria, Australia. Furthermore, the integration leverages Canva’s advanced AI design templates to automatically format digital dimensions into press-ready layouts, which completely eliminates traditional pre-press configuration errors. “The rollout will hit major international markets sequentially, fundamentally altering the competitive landscape of the global web-to-print industry,” says Canva Co-founder and CEO Melanie Perkins.
Driving Volume for Mass Customisation
For Cimpress, the alliance acts as a high-volume demand driver for its global print infrastructure, exposing VistaPrint’s commercial-grade print technology to Canva’s rapidly growing enterprise and small-business user base. Concurrently, Canva solves a major logistical bottleneck by embedding an end-to-end, localised physical fulfillment engine directly into its software suite. Financial terms of the multi-year deal have not been disclosed.
