Caravan Industries Invests In Four HP Latex 3000

HP announced that sign and display advertising company, Caravan Industries, of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has invested in four HP Latex 3000 Printers to maintain production levels and strengthen its ability to meet customers’ environmental requirements.

The purchase is the largest single order worldwide of the recently-launched six-colour, 3.2m HP Latex 3000 Printer, which offers broader media versatility, increased production capacity and third-generation HP 881 Latex Inks that produce odourless prints.

The complement will bolster Caravan’s growing portfolio of five HP printers and presses, which includes three existing HP Latex Printers, and strengthens its position as one of the Middle East’s leading suppliers of large format indoor and outdoor graphics applications.

According to Nasser Al Ras, owner of Caravan Industries, the investment addresses a number of objectives, among which is the need to meet the demands from a growing number of environmentally – conscious customers.

“As an established HP customer, we have first-hand experience of the terrific benefits HP Latex technology delivers to our customers as well as to our business, and investing in the new HP Latex 3000 Printer was a logical move forward for Caravan Industries,” said Mr Al Ras.

“The purchase enables us to meet heavy production requirements while satisfying expectations from customers who have grown used to receiving superior quality output produced via a process that is aligned to their environmental objectives,” he added.

Launched in June, the 1200dpi HP Latex 3000 Printer is an all-new device that can run at speeds up to 120m2/hr (1290ft2/hr), making it  ideal for busy production environments and 24/7 operation.

As well as reducing impact on the environment, the printer’s  water-based HP Latex Inks allow users to offer an extended range of creative indoor and outdoor applications using a variety of flexible substrates. These include vinyl, fabrics, paper, film and low-cost uncoated options, and represent the types of media Caravan Industries uses daily to fulfil customer projects.

“We print on a host of substrates using our current HP Latex printers, especially canvas and banner for signage jobs and flexface for backlit applications. We also use a large amount of self-adhesive vinyl for vehicle graphics – one of the mainstays of our service offering and perhaps one of the best applications that demonstrates the flexibility and durability of HP Latex Inks,” added Mr Al Ras.

Caravan Industries also wanted to ensure customer turnaround times continue to be met, something that will also be assured due to the HP Latex Inks. Prints are dry from the printer and ready to finish or despatch immediately, accelerating throughput and response times.

“Our investment in four HP Latex 3000 Printers underscores the long-held faith we have both in HP as a company, and its technology. This gives us the confidence we need as we look ahead to the future development and expansion of our company,” concluded Mr Al Ras.

One of the leading large format print service providers in Saudi Arabia, Caravan Industries offers a full spectrum of indoor and outdoor sign and display applications, from traditional signage to 3D neon systems.

Established in 1983, the company currently employs 450 staff and serves domestic customers, as well as in the United Arab Emirates.
