Technology giant Canon has announced its participation as Headline Sponsor at the inaugural edition of Gulf Print & Pack in Saudi Arabia. Gulf Print & Pack 2025 will be held at Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center (RFECC) from 14-16 January, 2025.
Canon EMEA Marketing Director Ayman Aly says, “We are delighted to showcase Canon’s innovative solutions at Gulf Print & Pack 2025 in Riyadh, bringing a selection of technologies and support services that we highlighted at drupa 2024 to the Middle East. This event marks a significant milestone following the graduation of our first group of Canon Printing Consultant Programme (CPC Programme). These consultants, now equipped to advise businesses across key sectors like commercial printing, packaging, publishing, décor, and corporate in-house printing, will be instrumental in supporting the Kingdom’s evolving print and packaging industry and its digital transformation. Our participation underscores our commitment to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals for economic diversification and technological advancement.”
Mix of Traditional & Modern Printing Solutions on Display
For the interior décor sector, Canon will present digital printing solutions that transform spaces aesthetically and functionally. This lineup will feature the Arizona series for rigid media, the UVgel/Colorado M-series for high-productivity roll-to-roll printing, and the imagePROGRAF series for premium photo and fine art applications. These are supported by the PRISMA XL Suite workflow software, enabling Print Service Providers (PSPs) to manage diverse customer needs efficiently. The showcase will also feature a mezzanine area highlighting retail interior décor, signage, and commercial applications, emphasising Canon’s versatility in serving this market.
Expanding into digital packaging printing, Canon will showcase the capabilities of its UVgel Packaging Factory, built on the Colorado M-series and Neolt technology, enabling on-demand corrugated packaging production. Additionally, the Arizona 1360 FLXflow will be presented for short-run packaging needs.
For commercial print and promotional communications, Canon will demonstrate the power of personalised print in omnichannel marketing. The varioPRESS iV7 B2 press and LabelStream LS2000 will be virtually showcased for their flexibility across various applications, including direct mail, postcards, and retail materials. The imagePRESS V1350 will also feature sustainability-focused print applications and a range of finished products, showcasing Canon’s end-to-end workflow capabilities.
“We believe traditional offset printing and digital workflows complement each other. By offering technologies that enhance existing offset operations alongside cutting-edge digital solutions, we are well-positioned to support businesses at various stages of their digital transition. This comprehensive approach enables Canon to bridge the gap between traditional and modern printing methods, capitalising on the Kingdom’s diverse and expanding print market,” explains Aly.
Since the opening of its Saudi Arabia operations in 2018, Canon has achieved a 30% year-on-year growth trajectory. With a pledged investment exceeding $50 million, Canon has established three showrooms and offices in Jeddah, Khobar, and Riyadh.
