Brother Industries, Ltd. announced that its Germany-based subsidiary, Brother Internationale Industriemaschinen GmbH, has relocated and expanded its Brother Technology Center (BTC) Frankfurt within Bad Homburg, Hesse, Germany.
With this, BTC Frankfurt spans a total floor area of 1,700 square metres, featuring a dedicated 720-square-metre showroom. Expanding approximately 2.5 times its previous size, the showroom will be able to display almost the entire lineup of Brother’s SPEEDIO series of machine tools. Designed as a multifunctional hub, the facility will host machine tool exhibitions, machining demonstrations, and technical seminars. Beyond its role as a showcase for advanced manufacturing, the center will serve as a base for marketing, technical support, test processing, and service support.
Europe has solidified its position as the world’s second-largest machine tool market after China, as demand for precision parts production reaches new heights. While the automotive sector – particularly the rapidly evolving EV market – remains the primary driver, the market is seeing substantial gains from the aerospace and medical equipment industries. In particular, there is growing demand in Western Europe, including Germany, for high-mix low-volume production.
Brother is aggressively accelerating its industrial equipment strategy, intensively revamping its SPEEDIO series since 2022 to meet shifting global manufacturing demands. The company now offers 12 models across eight series, engineered to handle everything from large parts, complex machining, and high-mix low-volume production. Brother’s medium-term business strategy ‘CS B2027’, which concludes in fiscal year 2027, has designated Europe and Southeast Asia, along with China, India, and Japan, as key regions for its industrial equipment business and is working to reinforce its human resources and expand its sales facility networks across these key global markets.
Currently, Brother Technology Centers operate at seven locations in Japan and 13 overseas. The relocation and expansion of its facility in Bad Homburg has made it the second-largest overseas technology center after Shanghai. The upgraded showroom now provides a comprehensive look at the SPEEDIO series, featuring nine models that include the S500Xd2, S700Xd2-5AX 100T, W1000Xd2, R650Xd1 40tools, U500Xd2-5AX 100T, M200Xd1, M300Xd1, HU550Xd1, and Deburring Center DG-1. Customers may also bring their own components for test processing and technical evaluation.
Looking ahead, Brother plans to strengthen its initiatives by providing customers with more transparent insights into the productivity and environmental performance of its machine tools. This strategic push will include an enhanced display lineup, live machining and test cutting demonstrations using actual machine tools, and on-site seminars. In addition, the company will bolster its long-term service support to ensure post-purchase reliability, while aiming for further business expansion in Europe.
