BOBST and Partners Drive Packaging Innovation in Egypt

BOBST, in collaboration with its Egypt-based agent IPS, successfully convened the Egyptian packaging industry for a full-day event in Cairo on 3 February 2026. The roadshow provided a platform for industry professionals to explore the latest technological advances across labels, flexible packaging, folding cartons, and corrugated packaging.

Hosted at Hilton Cairo Heliopolis, the event welcomed converters, brand owners, and industry partners for a comprehensive programme of presentations, demonstrations, and networking sessions designed to highlight opportunities shaping the future of packaging production.

Alongside a panel of experts from BOBST and ETERNA, partner companies including ACE, Baumer HHS, DEC Group, GEW, Reifenhäuser, and Rossini shared valuable insights into their respective fields of excellence, contributing to the day’s discussions on innovative solutions and industry trends.

“Egypt is becoming an increasingly important hub for packaging innovation in the Middle East and North Africa,” says Khaled Joundi, BOBST Regional Business Director Turkey, Middle East, Egypt & Pakistan. “Our roadshow in Cairo offered participants a platform to engage with leading specialists, discover cutting-edge technologies, and understand how BOBST and its partners are driving progress in production, automation, and sustainability. The feedback from the attendees has been extremely positive, underscoring the importance of such collaborative industry events in advancing the local packaging sector.”

The programme covered all major packaging segments. For folding carton and corrugated board manufacturers, BOBST highlighted the NOVAFFG flexo folder-gluer and the ETERNA range of converting solutions, positioning both as cost-effective, high-performance options.

In the flexible packaging sector, the VISION CI flexo press and the NOVALAM 800 laminator were demonstrated as a powerful combination offering efficiency, modularity, and sustainable production capabilities.

Label converters showed significant interest in the highly automated, versatile VISION M1, MASTER M5, and MASTER M6 inline flexo presses, which provide end-to-end digitalisation.

Discussions also focused on BOBST Connect, the cloud-based digital platform designed to enhance visibility and performance across production workflows. Experts shared insights on gravure digitalisation, coating and metallisation innovations, tooling performance, equipment financing, and BOBST’s comprehensive support and service offerings.

Partner companies contributed technology updates, while ETERNA offered information on cost-efficient pathways for converting and packaging production.

IPS CEO Dr. Sameh Sidhom comments on the successful collaboration: “The event reflected a very positive level of engagement across the industry. Our partnership with BOBST is built on trust and a shared commitment to bringing innovative, high performance solutions to converters across Egypt.”
